Hello Wolftree Central OR Mentors,
As winter is coming to a close our spring Watershed Science field schedule is coming together. Don’t miss out on the fun and fulfillment! We cannot provide these programs without your help!
As our programs are continually expanding we are thrilled to be working with students and teachers from Bend, Sisters, Prineville, Madras, Redmond, and Gilchrist. Collectively, these students from throughout Central Oregon will be conducting studies on Whychus, Ochoco, and Trapper Creeks, as well as the Crooked, Metolius, and the Little Deschutes Rivers.
Several classes will be “adopting” a section of a river or stream in central Oregon and then developing and implementing an action plan to address fish and wildlife habitat needs of that section. The culmination will be the Second Annual Students Speak: A Watershed Summit at McMenamins in Bend on May 13th, where teams of students will get the spotlight to present to local experts, community members, and their peers. We encourage you all to come and support these students after all of their hard work.
The following is the spring schedule as it stands now. Hopefully there will not be too many changes. Please reply to sign up for a day or two or more. Please encourage others who haven’t been out with us to give it a try. Remember you can always visit CALENDARS to check the latest updates. Dates in red indicate we are in need of mentors big time.
